Janelle B. Anderson is an audio producer and writer.

Most recently, she produced a 6-part series about Stevie Wonder’s music called The Wonder of Stevie. It’s hosted by Wesley Morris and made in collaboration with the Obamas and Questlove. She won’t shut up about it because it’s (sincerely) the greatest thing she’s ever made…so far.

Her work is generally all over the place, but in a good way.

It’s emotional, yet thoughtful. Like, asking people over 70 about getting older.

It’s historical, yet undeniably relevant. Like, reflecting on the transformative impact of Anita Hill’s testimony during the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

It’s (most often) unapologetically Black. Like, giving flowers to our Black Hollywood TV legends. Like, unpacking strife within Black female entrepreneurship. Like, tracking the expansive journey of birthing while Black in America. Like, The Cheetah Girls!!

So her work is all over the place, yes. But whatever she produces consistently reflects a deep passion for exploring what people try to share and why.

Currently, she’s producing at the New York Times.
